  • Update from Avgrunnsdalen

The cops have left the AFS for tonight, they drove off around 19:30. They have not been inside the house. No one got detained or ID checked.

They clearly used this opportunity to gather a lot of information on our infrastructures, but also to try and psychologically intimidate us. They destroyed one of our barricades, claiming it is for our own safety. People have reported aggressive behaviour, 2 helicopters and a dog patrol, in addition to at least 9 cop cars.

The night seems to be quiet. But we urge everyone to stay alert and keep themselves updated. Please follow us especially on alternative social media like mastodon and our website.

Come down to Hurummarka now and help out! This is a good moment to show your support :))

  • Red alarm in Avgrunnsdalen! Urgent support is needed!

10-12 cops are currently raiding the AFS, normal and riot cops. It is lIkely connected to the ground excavations that Multiconsult is doing in and around Avgrunnsdalen. The local press RHA and Budstikka have already reported on this, and we find it suspicious that they managed to do a detailed report on this because it is in the middle of the woods. The cops say they will not evict, but that this is related to potential damage on Multiconsults cars. However, they already removed some barricades which can point towards a potential eviction in the next days.

On tuesday, the cops were circling the AFS house with a helicopter for a while. Given, that neither the demolition of the house in Avgrunnsdalen, nor the construction of Chemring’s death factory are officially decided yet, this spending of public money (a helicopter costs 40,000–60,000 NOK per flight hour) is yet another absurd overreaction of the state. It shows, that the factory is planned and already decided upon without any participation and information of its citizens.

The same goes for the project report on energy development in Asker from September, 15th. Here, the Formannskapet is informed that Asker will have drastically increasing needs for energy use in the near future. Chemring’s new factory is explicitly mentioned in this report. We have observed Statsnett cars already driving through the forest in the past weeks, starting their work to expand the electricity grid for a region which will not need increased energy, except for if a explosives factory is built.

The municipalities AI hallucinations, bureaucratic sloppyness, and the state’s effort put into surveilling us and expanding energy production in Asker before there is any official decision to build the new factory shows clearly, how far the state is willing to go to silence the resistance in Hurummarka. This is how far they are willing to go without telling you that the factory will be built in Hurum.

Come to Avgrunnsdalen now! Show your support today!

    What you can do:

    • give moral support! show the people in Avgrunnsdalen that they are not alone!
    • figure out where people are detained and for how long and wait outside the police station until they come out
    • document! film everything the cops are doing
    • keep yourself updated, the situation may change any minute!

Or come in the next days to build the place up again and continue preparing for what is to come.

  • Global Day of Action for Palestine

Today, October 10th, is Global Day of Action for Palestine, where people and organisations across the world will unite under the banner ‘End the Genocide, Defend the Land.’

Three years into Israel’s genocide, at least 74,000 Palestinians have been killed. At least 21,000 of those killed are children. Since the so-called ‘ceasefire’ took effect one year ago, Israel has violated it almost daily, with attacks that have killed over 1000 people since October 10th 2025. Under the constant bombardment, 82% of buildings in the Gaza strip have been damaged or destroyed. Entire neighbourhoods have been wiped out, while 94% of medical facilities are either completely or partially unable to operate. At the same time, state-backed settler violence, land seizures and displacement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank has increased.

In the midst of these ongoing horrors, Chemring Nobel wants to build Europe’s largest explosives factory here in Hurummarka. Explosives produced by Chemring Nobel are used in the US produced Hellfire-missile, which are widely used against Palestinians by the Zionist entity. Chemring Nobel has also secured themselves a twelve year agreement with the German company Diehl Defence last year. Diehl cooperates closely with the Israeli weapons industry.

We are here in the AFS standing in the way of Chemring’s death factory. We refuse to allow the never ending expansion of the war machine. We know that the only way to end the genocide is to take direct action against the mechanisms that supply it. We are nature defending itself.

On this Global Day of Action, we invite you to join us in our struggle here in the forest. End the genocide, free Palestine, Knus Krigsmaskinen!

  • Solidarity and Strength to land defenders in Lochiel, Arizona and La Noria, Mexico.

Murderous border walls and border patrol terrorize the land and all its inhabitants. We are inspired by resistance against all borders. We grieve the destruction of the Grandmother tree.

No borders, No nations, No wars!

  • Palestine solidarity demonstration in Oslo

Yesterday, 7th of October, we joined the Palestine solidarity demonstration arranged by Solidaritetsnettverket in Oslo.

We wish to express our grief and sorrow with all those who experienced loss and pain on this day, without separating the events of 7/10 from the larger context of Israels settler colonial project being enforced every day for the past 72 years.

The days leading up to the demonstration in Oslo were filled with heavy bureaucratic and rhetoric attacks on the organizers, leading to several groups dropping out by publicly discrediting the organizers and remaining participants.

We see these dynamics as giving in to a smear campaign supported not least by the Israeli embassy, who urged Oslo municipality to ban the demonstration. This smear campaign aims to divide, confuse and distract us from seeing what is in front of our eyes: that genocide starts here and must be fought here.

Read our speech for more context and our position.
Join the resistance against Chemring Nobel!

    Knus Krigsmaskinen!

    Here is our speech:

    Dear friends and comrades
We are grateful for the opportunity to share with you all today about our struggle, which is inherently a struggle in solidarity with the Palestinian resistance.

For those who don’t know, Knus Krigsmaskinen is an autonomous group of people who defend Hurummarka against the Ministry of Defence and Chemring Nobel’s plans to build Europe’s largest military explosives factory, which would supply the US, German and Israeli militaries with essential components. We inhabit a valley in the forest called Avgrunnsdalen and live in an abandoned cabin, tree houses and an old tower.

We were not suprised to hear about the controversies that the media attempted to manufacture around this demonstration. The rhetoric of terrorism is often used to discredit resistance, while legitimizing the colonial state. The media’s pressure campaign does not come from a place of sympathy with the Israeli civilians. Rather, discussions like this only serves to distract, confuse and undermine the movement.

The rhetorical and bureaucratic attacks on this demonstration can be seen as a part of an increasing repression against the growing Palestine movement. More and more people understand that this fight can and must be fought here, against the Norwegian state and companies complicit in the genocide. This is worth protecting. Therefore it is important for us here today, to demonstrate our resistance and resilience, to stand together in solidarity with Palestine and not let our enemy distract us, divide us, or silence us.
Instead of accusing each other based on moral claims, we must focus on the fact that war, genocide and colonialism is produced and profited on here and that this is what we need to attack, not each other.

One of the clearest examples of such a company i Chemring Nobel. It is a Norwegian company, but fully owned by the British Chemring Group PLC and financed by American investors. 90% of Chemring Nobel’s production is exported abroad – mostly to the American arms industry through companies like Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Space X, and from there, directly to Israel. Last year Chemring and Nammo secured a twelve-year agreement with German Diehl Defence to supply ammunition to the German military. Diehl, in turn, cooperates closely with the Israeli arms industry. On many of its products, Chemring Nobel has a monopoly on the European market, which makes the new factory in Hurummarka a central target in the fight against escalating wars, genocide and imperialism.

We also want to emphasize the limitations of liberal activism. History shows that following the state’s rules for protest is not enough to tear down the structues that dominate, exploit and exterminate. It is time to realize that we can not dismantle the master’s house with the master’s tools.

Our strength lies not in demanding changes from those in power, but in self-organizing struggles that are rooted in the creation of new relationships to land and people. We also warn against any false promises that the system can be reformed, or that an authoritative, illuminated leader can bring us to justice, liberation, a world without genocide, or a society without classes. In order to end genocide, we must take direct action to destroy the structures that are feeding it, and we must build from the ashes, a new world based on mutual aid and genuine solidarity.

Instead of sinking into apathy and hopelessness we find deep meaning in the loving community that fights in and around Avgrunnsdalen together for the better world that we know is possible. Let us stand side by side in this fight.

Down with all states and their bloody wars!

    Knus Krigsmaskinen!

  • Asker municipality decided to uphold the demolition our house

Today (october 7th), Asker municipality decided to uphold the demolition permit of our house in Avgrunnsdalen.

By doing this, they override the fylkekommune’s recommendation to not demolish a fully usable house for 1.2 million kroners of public money.

They speak in favor of destroying Rolf Røskestads culturally valuable painting of the Oslofjord, representing the Norwegian resistance against fascism WW2 (how ironic).
An they speak in favor of constructing Chemrings war factory in Hurummarka.

They only continue their process of trying to silence our protest against Chemrings factory, which has since the start been full of bureaucratic sloppyness and undemocratic procedures.
We have not forgotten Asker municipality’s AI hallucinations, their attempt to circumvent treating the demolition of our house politically, or their attempts to portray us as russian agents and criminals.
All of this is part of their attempt to silence our resistance, because they rightfully fear that it is growing, becoming more diverse, and gaining popular support. We are becoming a thorn in the eyes of the state and Chemring Nobel and this is why they try to remove us as quickly and silently as possible.

But the last word hasnt been spoken yet. The final decision about the demolition will now be forwarded to a higher instance, the Statsforvalter.

This means, that now is the time to get engaged and show that we are many, that we are determined, and that we reject the construction of this factory that will only produce death and war.

    Knus krigsmaskinen!

  • Preparing for winter

Untill the 7th of october there is little to no chance of eviction. After, the state will decide on the legality of the demolition of the house which can take up to six weeks. As soon as the decision is made we will be notified and an eviction might very well be more likely again. Of course this doesn’t mean that police can not come here or that we stay passive untill then. And of course an eviction will be very difficult.

We are preparing to stay over winter but need helping hands creating warm spaces and would be very grateful about offers of campers, trailers or good tents with the possibility of making fire inside so we can host a lot of people 😉

  • Smash the war machine and all the players of Chemring’s wargames!

Since last week we have witnessed Multiconsult’s vehicles, machinery, and drilling activities just south of Avgrunssdalen. Hired by Chemring Nobel, Multiconsult is testing, whether the geological conditions of selected areas in Hurummarka are suitable for the construction of their new war factory.

In doing the testing drillings, Multiconsult is just another player in Chemring’s game of building Europe’s bigges explosives factory, that will increase Norway’s supply of military material to genocidal and imperial regimes like the US and Israel. They also contribute to the destruction of Hurummarka and the pollution of the Oslofjord.

We expect Multiconsult to soon try and do their tests in Avgrunnsdalen as well. But we are here to block every step along the way of the state and Chemring trying to push through this factory. We encourage everyone to stay attentive and follow the developments around Avgrunnsdalen, we might need your support here in the forest soon.

Until then, let one thing be said loud and clear: Multiconsult is yet another relevant target in the fight against the war machine.
They are not just “doing their job”, they are actively enabling the construction of a death factory.

This complicity must have its price. Whether at their offices in Oslo or here, in the forest. The global day for action in solidarity with Palestine is approaching. Don’t let solidarity remain an empty phrase. Get off your screens, stop demanding, start acting! Every day is a good day to show solidarity through direct action

Stop Chemring Nobel – Knus Krigsmaskinen!

  • Weekly evening on Sápmi and anti-colonial struggle

Join us tonight (thursday, september 24) at 21:00 around the bonfire for our first weekly evening on Sápmi and anti-colonial struggle!

The AFS Avgrunnsdalen stands in solidarity with Sámi struggles for land and life! Our fight against the state and the military industri is inseparable from the fights defending ancestral lands in Sápmi. What does this solidarity mean for us? It means material support to our Sámi comrades who face fines for showing Sami spirit wherever we can. It means taking action wherever we can.
And it means to follow invitations to the North to learn and build relationsships of mutual aid, trust, and fuel to the fire against the colonialisms of every state. It also means educating ourselves and other non-Sámi, so that the issue of ongoing Norwegian colonialism can no longer be ignored.

For more information about Knus Krigsmaskinens anti-colonial solidarity read here.
